i'm alma, a pop singer-songwriter with a lot of other interests.

i studied voice in chicago, then moved to los angeles to immerse myself in the arts scene there. i met lots of amazing creative people, but i barely scratched the surface of what that city had to offer. it was too fast for me. so when i was offered a long-shot opportunity to start a business in the energy sector, i took it, & i fell head over heels for a northern town you've probably never heard of: williston, north dakota. (here's a song i wrote about it.) i now live half the year there. the other half i spend in houston, where my husband is from. we welcomed a little baby in 2023.

strangely, moving to a small town was an unmixed good for my music career. not only did i begin gigging more than ever before, but the creative environment—& by that i mean the lack of creative resources & outlets—activated an interest in arts education i never knew i had. i started the williston music intensive in 2022 to help local musicians explore their potential, & if all goes to plan in the next couple years, there's a lot more where that came from.

i'm not very good at doing the "artist thing" on social media. i like making songs, not taking photographs & trying to think of clever captions. but you're welcome to follow me on instagram, facebook, or twitter. you can also sign up for my mailing list to stay privy to new music & events.
